HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — On Wednesday, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball hosted a launch event for HoCo Counts ahead of the census in April.

HoCo Counts includes a complete count committee to ensure full community participation. Ball says officials want to ensure that every person is counted and that Howard County is fully represented across the region and nationally.

"Each Marylander who isn't counted is almost $20,000 lost to the state," Ball said. "That's money that could go toward our schools, our roads, our housing, our infrastructure. So we want to make sure that everyone is counted and everyone has a voice."

The complete count committee will be a group of community leaders and organizations from public, private, non-profit and faith communities.
