First dissolvable stents being placed in Maryland patients with clogged arteries

Posted
We have amazing doctors and nurses here in Maryland, and they're breaking ground ounce again.

This time, MedStar Union Memorial is the first hospital in the state to implant dissolvable stents in patients with blocked arteries.

off. With this device, when the body is repaired, the stent dissolves.

Dr. John Wang from the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital explains how it works, who is right for the procedure, and why this is such a big breakthrough.
