Selecting astronauts for Mars missions

If you left right now, drove west, and didn't stop, you'd arrive in California sometime Friday. Add just one more day, and you could travel to Mars.
 
At least, that's something NASA is working on. 
 
Scientists said they're trying to develop a laser propulsion system that can zoom a space craft to Mars in just three days. And, they're going to need that transportation soon.
 
In about 14 years, NASA will be close to sending astronauts to the red planet. Scientists from Johns Hopkins University are helping NASA figure out how to pick those astronauts.
