RECALL ALERT: Textured breast implants linked to rare type of cancer

One of the largest breast implant makers, Allergan, is recalling textured breast implants and tissue expanders worldwide.

The FDA discovered that the devices are linked to a rare type of cancer, breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma.

Officials say if you have those implants and don't currently have any problems or symptoms, you don't need to do anything. However legal experts say it's a good idea to get them checked out as a precaution.

"What we know today is just the tip of the iceberg. What we're likely to learn over the coming years about how bad these products were and who knew about it and when is going to be different than what we know today," said Attorney Charles Gilman of Gilman and Bedigian, LLC. "From a legal perspective and knowing how history repeats itself, as a woman with these implants you should absolutely get it check out and make decisions that are best for you and your family."
