BALTIMORE — 2020 has been a rough year.

One family is taking the number back and adding some good to it.

Benn and Jayden Steiner-Friedman were part of a group handing out two 2,020 meals to the homeless, at The Manna House on East 25th Street in Baltimore.

Jayden came up with the idea.

His dad said it's because his son's school encourages them to help those in need, by making a pre-packed lunch at home and bringing it in to donate.

“Jayden wanted to make more than one lunch, it went to 18, then we doubled it, then he wanted to do a hundred, then he wanted to do a thousand. So, for Thanksgiving, we figured we'd put our minds together and said let’s do two thousand and twenty, for 2020.”

Benn adds while he didn't have a final number, he believes they got well past their 2,020-meal goal. They likely got close to 3,000 meals made!

In addition to food, the meals also have a note from Jayden wishing everyone a happy thanksgiving.
