Anne Arundel County Councilman Andrew Pruski has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Councilman announced this Monday, saying in part that leading up to the test he was generally asymptomatic.
"I am thankful that I chose to take a test out of the abundance of caution, so that I could protect myself, my family, and others," he said in his statement. "I highly encourage others to get tested if you are not feeling well."
Pruski says that immediately after receiving the positive result he began self quarantining from his family and the public.
"I have also worked closely with the Maryland and Anne Arundel County Departments of Health to contact anyone who has been around me over the past two weeks. My family is quarantining as well, separate from me, and their test results are pending," he stated. "I have begun a two week quarantine per health guidelines. During the quarantine, I respectfully ask for people to respect the privacy of me and my family."
