ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — Parents are sounding the alarm to restart recreation football in Anne Arundel County. The county has canceled the tackle football season due to coronavirus concerns.
About 100 parents protested outside the Anne Arundel County Health Department. Tackle football is the only fall sport not going forward this year.
"I can’t tell you that anything about this is fair. When you play sports, you play by rules and it’s got to be fair," County Executive Steuart Pittman said.
The county did state before the season that there was no guarantee the season will go on. Rec and Park officials are talking with league members to see about a flag football season for kids.
Parents say all the other sports staying in tact is not fair.
