ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and other leaders braved the elements Thursday to pay their respects to more than 500 residents who lost their life to COVID-19 since the pandemic began, last March.

The tribute featured a tolling of the bell followed by 500 seconds of silence.

As of Thursday, there were 34,216 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Anne Arundel County.
