Baltimore native helping Nashville tornado victims

BALTIMORE, Md. — Mike McFadden left his hometown of Baltimore for the bright lights of Nashville.

Then Tuesday hit.

He laid his guitar down to pick up a shovel.

Mike heard the alarms like never before, these were different.

He reached for his phone and saw a tornado just clobbered his adopted town. So what did Mike do? He got in his car and drove to find trouble.

You see Hank Williams gave us, “Your Cheatin Heart”, Mike gave us, a helping heart.

Without any organized groups, he took it upon himself to just find areas that needed help.

Mike has spent the week picking up, collecting donations and more picking up.

A little girl came by with her family with a card to say thank you. Here he was in the volunteer state, volunteering.

A man turned down his donations.

This man lost his entire house, only the couch where his mom and dad were sitting remains.

Mike will go to his untouched house tonight, knowing this moment has touched him to do something.

On his very own. I asked Mike, “Will you write a country song about this?” He said, “There are no words.”

Maybe just a sad harmony of hurt.
