PERRY HALL, Md. — A large water main break has forced a portion of Belair Road to close on both sides over the weekend in Baltimore County.
The area impacted will be from the intersection of Dunfield Road and White Marsh Boulevard to Silver Spring Road in Perry Hall.
Northbound Belair Road traffic is being detoured onto MD 43- White Marsh Boulevard with southbound traffic being rerouted to Silver Spring Road.
Officials urge anyone traveling between Harford County and I-695, to avoid Belair Road and instead use I-95 or Harford Road.
The water line itself is expected to be repaired Friday, but it will take several days to fix several hundred feet of damaged roadway to accommodate normal levels of traffic.
Local residents and proprietors will be guided through the work zone to enter and exit their driveways.
