SPENCERVILLE, Md. — The body of a missing swimmer was found Tuesday afternoon in the Duckett Watershed area of the Patuxent River off Batson Road.
Several search and rescue crews from Howard and Montgomery Counties used remote operated underwater vehicles and boats with side-scan sonar to find the body between Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge reservoirs.
Howard County Fire and Rescue first posted about the incident on Twitter at 11:30 a.m.
By 2:15 p.m., Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer said the body had been recovered.
Piringer says no swimming signs are posted in the area the incident occurred.
The swimmer has not yet been identified.
