FREDERICK, Md. — An unidentified body was pulled from the waters of Carroll Creek after being seen by a passerby Sunday, Frederick Police said.
A person walking along the waterway in the area of the South East Street overpass spotted the body floating in the water below around 7:46 a.m. and called 911, police said. Frederick County Division of Fire & Rescue arrived and pulled the body from the water and began CPR. Police arrived and worked to preserve the scene to begin an investigation. The body was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead.
The body was then sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an examination into cause of death and identity. The victim’s name won’t be released to police until identification has been determined and next-of-kin have been notified.
