BALTIMORE — The Maryland Zoo on Thursday revealed who the father is to baby chimp Violet.
For a long time, zoo staff awaited DNA test results.
The odds were narrowed down to three male chimps; Kasoje, Jack, and Louie.
In the end, Louie came back as the dad.
Violet's mother is Raven.
The Zoo says it's important to learn family trees in order to maintain a Chimpanzee Species Survival Plan, which ensures their genetic health at accredited zoos.
