GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Police say a case of road rage nearly got violent on a Glen Burnie Walmart parking lot.

On Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. officers got a call for someone armed with a knife.

The victims told police they were driving and got into some altercation with a man leaving the store.

They eventually parked and walked away from their car.

But later, the victims reported seeing the man tampering with their tires.

When they approached, the suspect allegedly pulled a knife and lunged at them.

Walmart security got involved, at which point the suspect got in his car and left.

The victims were able to provide responding officers with a tag number.

Police went to the Pasadena address that the vehicle was registered to, and interviewed the alleged suspect. They ended up finding a knife in the car.

The victims told officers that was the guy, at which point he was arrested.

James Alan Hostetter, 44, now faces charges of first degree assault.

It's unclear what triggered the initial argument.
