BALTIMORE — This ought to help students while they are learning virtually.

Comcast says it's doubling the speed of their internet essentials package.

It's designed to bring affordable, high-speed internet for working families.

The move comes after Baltimore students, complained about the slow speeds, and called on Comcast to fulfill their promise of delivering a fast connection at an affordable price.

"This increase of speeds means so much to me because it means that me and my sisters can hopefully access all of our classes simultaneously. We can be in class with little to no internet interruptions."

Baltimore students, council members and advocates helped lead this effort.
