MARYLAND — Rep. Andy Harris will face a challenger in the 2022 election.
Democrat Heather Mizeur on Thursday launched her campaign to represent Maryland's 1st District, saying the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was part of her decision to run.
"Andy Harris' actions on that day alone disqualify him from to represent Maryland's 1st District," Mizeur said in her campaign announcement.
Mizeur previously spent a decade working in Congress.
The 1st District encompasses portions of Baltimore, Carroll and Harford counties, as well as the Eastern Shore.
