BALTIMORE — Destiny Harrison Dream Scholarship Fund will award $3,000 scholarships to MERVO students.
In December of 2019, Destiny Harrison, a mother, beautician, and business owner, was shot in front of her daughter in her salon.
On Saturday, Councilmember Zeke Cohen joined Destiny Harrison’s mother, Racquel Harrison, Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School (MERVO) Principal Tricia Lawernce, and students Krystia Davis, and Mary Osunkunle to announce $3,000 scholarships for students.
The press conference took place outside of Destiny's former beauty shop where she was killed at 241 N Milton Ave.
The scholarships will be awarded from the Destiny's Dream Scholarship Fund, which was established to honor Destiny’s legacy.
The Destiny Dream Scholarship Fund has raised over $70,593.59 since March 2019 and has awarded five $1,000 scholarships this year.
