MARYLAND — While discussions continue for a second round of stimulus checks, some Americans have still not claimed their money from the first round.

The Internal Revenue Service said up to 9 million people have missed out on claiming their stimulus payment, more than 430,000 of them from DC, Virginia and Maryland.

You're most likely eligible if your 2019 gross income was less than $12,200 as an individual or $24,400 as a married couple. Right now, the IRS is working on sending letters to people who haven't filed a 2018 and 2019 federal tax return, since they typically wouldn't have to because of low incomes but they could qualify for this stimulus payment.

You're most likely eligible for this money if you’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you have a work-eligible Social Security number and you can’t be claimed as a dependent. So don't wait around for the letter, click hereto see if you are eligible.

There are five zip codes in each jurisdiction where the most letters are being sent. For Maryland the majority of the letters are being sent to Baltimore. These are the following zip codes: 21215, 21218, 21217, 21207 and 20744.
