BALTIMORE — There have been ongoing food needs for families amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Living Classrooms Powerhouse Community Center has distributed 350 meals daily since March to Southeast Baltimore residents to combat this need.
With a donation from Royal Farms they were able to feed 300 of those residents, during their grocery giveaway.
“It’s important to me and it’s important to our company, and I’m so proud to work for a company that gives back.”
Items included milk, bread, deli meats, and yogurt were donated to the Living Classrooms Foundation by Royal Farms.
Nonperishable items including chips, granola bars, and bottled water were also provided.
The Living Classrooms Foundation founded in 1985 is made of community members who provide not only meals, but hygiene and cleaning products, laptops, and professional development as well.
Amid the pandemic the foundation has distributed masks and social distancing information for residents.
