16-year-old killed, 12-year-old injured after shooting in Southwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 12-year-old was injured after being shot in Southwest Baltimore.

On Wednesday at about 3:25 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 900 block of Poplar Grove for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers found a 16-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

Medics responded to the location and pronounced the 16-year-old dead on the scene.

While still at the location, investigators were notified of a second victim, a 12 year-old boy, suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

The 12-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
