BALTIMORE — A man was shot and killed by the store owner after witnesses say he tried to rob Edmondson Village Corner Store.
Just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, there was a report of a shooting at 3624 Edmondson Avenue at Edmondson Village Corner Store in West Baltimore.
An officer was directed to the corner store where he saw an unresponsive man shooting victim.
Medics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead.
Witnesses on scene say the young man went in and tried to rob the store, but was shot by the owner.
“Right now at this point, you know you got a lot of people who are going through a lot in this community. So a lot of different negativity is going to come out of this because a lot of people are just tired and when people get tired it seems like people do things that’s not in the best interest of their family or the community," Harold Diggs, told WMAR-2.
Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control over the investigation.
