MOUNT AIRY, Md. — A group of young gymnasts from Skyview Gymnastics in Mount Airy brought home a national championship from the 2019 Gymnastics for All National Championships and GymFest in Texas.

The Skyview Level 4 Power TeamGym team, which consists of gymnasts from Carroll, Frederick, and Howard counties, qualified for the national competition earlier in the year. The team was able to wow the judges with a floor and jump routine that earned them first place overall.

“I’m so proud of the way these girls stuck together and worked hard all year,” said Head Coach Bailey Rammling. “It takes athleticism, effort, and years of practice just to make it to this national stage. But this team was motivated and talented, and they never gave up. We are so honored to bring this title back to Maryland.”

Power TeamGym is a synchronized form of gymnastics where teams perform highly choreographed floor and jump routines, including apparatuses such as vault and mini-trampolines.

The national title marks the end of a 10-month journey for the Skyview Level 4 Power TeamGym team.
