HANOVER, Md. — It was 3:45 in the afternoon on April 10th when motorists on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway near the exit for Arundel Mills Boulevard realized this was no routine Sunday drive as gunfire erupted on the highway.

“Witnesses told police they actually saw two vehicles driving northbound on the BW Parkway involved in what they believe looked like a road rage incident when they saw some observations of flashes of light that maybe indicated that there was a gunshot,” said Elena Russo of the Maryland State Police.

Multiple shots hit the side of the car, a gray Chevy Malibu, and one struck the unidentified driver who then pulled over to the shoulder of the highway.

In addition to the 28-year-old victim who suffered a single gunshot wound, we have also learned a one-year-old little girl was also in the vehicle.

It appears the injured driver was trying to check on the wellbeing of the baby when he collapsed to the ground from his injury.

Investigators believe the shooter was driving a gray sedan, which may have been a BMW.

“We’re looking for any witnesses who have information regarding the incident,” said Russo, “They’re looking at any video camera footage that may be available, and our investigators are also talking to our partner law enforcement agencies just to short of share information in their jurisdictions, because this is not the first time we’ve seen this happen in the last few weeks.”

Anyone with information about the suspect or his vehicle is asked to call the State Police Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.
