OCEAN CITY — More than 100 participants of the weekend pop-up rally in Ocean City were arrested.

Police say they were arrested and charged with various criminal and traffic offenses.

According to police, despite experiencing minor issues during the day, hundreds of participants became unruly and destructive during the evening hours.

Incidents throughout Ocean City progressed from social gatherings to unruly and violent behavior among the large crowds, specifically in the downtown area.

Ocean City Police received help from law enforcement across the Eastern Shore to help with crowds, disorderly conduct and assaults.

Police say additional information will be released at a later time.
