ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Blood donors remember a journalist who lost her life in the Capital Gazette shooting.
More than 250 donors signed up for the sixth annual Wendi Winters Memorial Blood Drive in Annapolis.
"The key thing to remember about blood is that it has a shelf life, it's perishable. So that's why events like this are important. We need to consistently restock the shelves."
The Red Cross hopes to collect 250 pints of blood. Organizers said each pint can save up to three lives.
