FEDERALSBURG, Md. (WMAR) — Maryland State Police say a hunter discovered human skeletal remains inside a State wildlife area in Caroline County on Monday.
Troopers were dispatched around 2 p.m. to the Idylwild State Wildlife Management Area in Federalsburg.
The hunter reportedly found the bones while walking through the woods.
Along with the remains, police collected several pieces of clothing from the scene to be forensically examined.
No form of identification was found on the person.
The cause of death is unclear and will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Detectives from the Criminal Enforcement Division, Upper Shore have taken over as the lead investigators in the case.
