BALTIMORE — The MVA is warning residents of a Real ID text messaging scam that's been circulating recently.
This is what the phony message looks like.
It leads to a link which looks like an official government page. It then asks you to enter all your information.
The MVA says they're in the process of trying to have it taken down.
They advise to not click on the link and to immediately delete the message.
"MDOT MVA would not ask customers to provide this personal information in this way...MDOT MVA only sends text messages to confirm, modify & cancel customer appointments," according to an official.
If you clicked on it, go here for help. Anyone who thinks they may have received such a text can email MVACS@mva.maryland.gov.
