Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Wednesday night in the area of Fort Smallwood Road and Marley Neck Boulevard.
According to police, a 2004 Acura TSX was southbound on Fort Smallwood Road approaching the intersection when a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic was travelling eastbound on Marley Neck Boulevard approaching the intersection.
Both vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Acura was treated at the scene for minor injuries and the driver of the Chevrolet was transported to shock trauma with life-threatening injuries.
She was later pronounced dead by Shock Trauma staff.
The primary cause of the crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and speed are believed to have contributed to this crash.
