One killed, two hurt in crash between tanker truck and passenger vehicle

UNIONVILLE, Md. — One person was killed and two were injured when a tanker truck collided with a passenger vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Frederick County.

Maryland State Police Troopers responded to the crash along Liberty Road/MD-26 in Unionville at about 1 p.m. The Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are aiding in the accident investigation. The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office will be contacted pending the details of the investigation to determine if any charges will be filed.

Police closed Route 26, detouring traffic onto Unionville Road.
