Pedestrian hit and killed late Wednesday night in Laurel; MSP continue to investigate

LAUREL, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that resulted in the death of a 54-year-old woman in Laurel.

On Wednesday, at around 11:25 p.m., troopers from the College Park Barrack arrived to eastbound Route 198, at Bauer Lane, for a report of a crash that involved a car and a pedestrian.

According to the preliminary report, the victim, Vivian Blevins, of Silver Spring, entered the road and was struck by a 2005 Honda Civic. Shortly after, Blevins was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency service personnel.

Officials say no one else was injured as a result of this incident.

The crash remains under investigation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on the victim.
