Flight instructor injured in plane crash at Frederick Airport

FREDERICK, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a plane crash that happened Thursday evening at Frederick Municipal Airport.

State Police officials say an Avid Magnum Experimental Taildragger plane flipped over while taking off from the airport.

Two people were on board, including an instructor and a student pilot.

Police say the instructor was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been called to investigate the cause.
