CENTREVILLE, Md. (WMAR) — A man is in custody after allegedly trying to kill his own mother during a highway road rage incident.

Race Nelson Robinson, 29, is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and several traffic violations.

Maryland State Police say they received a call from Robinson's mother on Saturday afternoon, as she was driving along westbound Route 50 near Nesbit Road in Queen Anne's County.

The mother told police that Robinson purposely rammed into her vehicle and tried running her off the road at a high rate of speed.

She also reported that she feared her son would try shooting and killing her.

When police got there, Robinson had already fled. Luckily, the mother was able to avoid crashing into anything and wasn't hurt.

Robinson was later found and arrested in Catonsville by Baltimore County Police and Troopers from the Golden Ring Barack.

He's currently being held without bail, pending a court hearing.

Police didn't release any information on a possible motive.
