WALKERSVILLE, Md (WMAR) — A 35-year-old man is arrested and charged after allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend outside of a gym.
The incident happened on Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m. in the 8400 block of Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville.
Maryland State Police say the victim reported being followed to the gym by her ex-boyfriend, who then forced her into his vehicle. The victim told police the suspect took her phone and drove her around the area all while threatening to get into a head on collision. After about 30 minutes, the victim was returned to the gym, where she was allowed to leave, and able to call 911.
Troopers later located the suspect, identified as Jason M. Bittner, 35, of Woodbine. in the area of Revelation Drive. He was taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he awaits an appearance before a court commissioner on charges of assault and kidnapping.
