STEVENSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) — A high school student may face discipline for joking about bringing a bomb to school.

The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was made aware of the incident on Tuesday around 7 p.m., when they got a call from the Board of Education.

An investigation found that a student at Kent Island High School was talking with another student earlier in the day, and made a joke about bringing a bomb to school the next day.

Deputies talked with the student who reported the conversation, and the student who made the comment.

Investigators determined there was no actual threat of harm to anyone at the school.

The Sheriff's Office says it will coordinate with the Board of Education on possible discipline.
