BURTONSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) — A two-alarm fire broke out at one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest wholesale plant nursery's on Monday afternoon.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said it happened around 12:20 p.m. at Bell Nursery in Burtonsville.
Firefighters from Howard and Prince George's Counties responded to assist, and were met with heavy fire, involving hazardous materials such as fuel, feed, fertilizer, and other equipment.
The warehouse style building measures an estimated 100 feet by 300 feet in size and took around 100 firefighters two hours to contain.
