SILVER SPRING — A metro train derailed outside the Silver Spring station on Tuesday.
The lead car of an outbound red line train slipped off the tracks around 11:30 a.m. by the station platform.
One passenger and the train operator were rescued after briefly being stuck inside, due to the train doors being jammed.
Montgomery County Fire officials say the train was moving at a low rate of speed when it derailed.
Luckily no one was injured.
Other trains experienced delays while the scene was being cleared up.
