BALTIMORE — It's a holiday celebration that's changing the lives of three local families.

Vehicles for Change gave cars to three families Tuesday.

Recipients included Keshawn Sturgis, Tinakesha Nutter, and Shamika Kemp.

Sturgis is a father of six, and a newlywed. He got married in May. His daily commute has been close to an hour and a half. He's also spending more than $80 a week to get to work.

"I'm just so grateful and thankful,” said Sturgis. “I can take my kids to places without having to get on the bus and people sneezing and things of that. I'm just grateful and I really extend my gratitude to this organization.”

Nutter is a mother of two. She’s a Medical assistant at GBMC in Towson. She says she’s looking forward to doing more activities with her children with their own vehicle, once COVID restrictions subside.

Kemp is a mother of three boys. She says, “What a Christmas gift!”
