BALTIMORE — A video released by the Baltimore Police Department shows officers rescuing a mother and her child from the water behind MedStar Harbor Hospital.

Officers responded to the scene on December 13 in the 3000 block of Hanover Street for an attempted suicide.

The 35-year-old mother was reportedly experiencing a behavioral crisis, and was trying to drown herself and her 6-year-old daughter.

Without hesitation, officers Joel Quillin, Tyler Naccari-Mueller and Jeffrey Hooper, are seen taking off their police equipment and entering the water to make the save.

The unconscious child was rushed to the nearest hospital where doctors were able to save her life.

The mother was transported to an area hospital to undergo an evaluation.
