BALTIMORE — Black history month is almost over, but before it ends Weis Markets are making sure it's one a local non-profit won't soon forget!

Today the company donated $5,000 to the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition. One community leader says every donation, especially during the pandemic is a big boost.

"I really applaud Weis for being one of our great partners in Baltimore City and making sure that we have access to these opportunities. And I thank them for awarding HEBCAC today with a $5,000 check. It's more than just money, they're making an involved commitment to HEBCAC and that partnership will be long-lasting."

Over the past two decades, the group has focused on educational workforce development, substance abuse recovery and housing resources to those in East Baltimore.
