BOSTON (AP) — Boston police have arrested the driver they say injured four officers with his car.

Vincent Weaks was taken into custody at about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday in the Roxbury neighborhood by members of the department's Youth Violence Strike Force.

The 34-year-old Boston resident has been charged with four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He's set to appear in Roxbury District Court later Wednesday.

The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Two plainclothes officers investigating a report of a man with a gun had attempted to speak with the driver of a vehicle in the Dorchester neighborhood when he suddenly sped away, dragging the officers about 20 feet.

Two uniformed officers were also struck by the fleeing vehicle. All four were treated and released from the hospital.
