Suspect killed after massive police response for a shots fired call in South Carolina

A massive police response converged on the small town of Huger, South Carolina Tuesday afternoon following reports of an active shooter, ending in a shootout with officers that left the suspect dead.

Berkeley County Sheriff's Office confirmed that no other injuries stemmed from Tuesday's incident.

The Sheriff's Office tweeted a photo of one its cruisers that was targeted by the suspect. The suspect's identity has not been released.

WCIV-TV reports that the incident started over a dispute between neighbors.

Huger is located 40 miles northeast of Charleston, South Carolina.
