Philadelphia Police responding after suspect fired at officers, no injuries reported

Philadelphia Police are responding to reports of an "active shooter" in the city's Hawthorne neighborhood the department tweeted Thursday.

WPVI-TV reports that a man barricaded himself in a building and fired at officers. Police say the shooter has been contained by a police perimeter.

Currently, no one is injured. Police are advising people to stay away from the area.

WPVI reports that a nearby school has been locked down.
