Cofirmation vote for Rosenstein Wednesday

Posted

Maryland's U.S. attorney general is a step closer to becoming the nation's deputy attorney general.

The Senate voted 92-6 to move to a final vote Wednesday for Rod Rosenstein's confirmation.

If confirmed, he would have to decide whether to appoint an independent prosecutor in the Russian meddling case with last year's election.

Rosenstein would also help hire dozens of U.S. attorneys after President Trump asked for their resignation in March.
