A 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle was transferred to Maryland Shock Trauma by air after being struck by a pickup truck on Forest Drive in Annapolis Thursday.
Anne Arundel County Police said the cyclist wasn't wearing a helmet and suffered head and facial injuries. Police spokeswoman Amy Miguez said that from observation in the hospital, it didn't appear that the teen had any brain trauma.
Police said that, preliminarily, it appears bicyclist error was a factor in this crash. The driver of the truck remained on the scene.
Forest Drive was closed for a few hours Thursday while police investigated the collision.
