LAKE SHORE, Md. — A 17 year old and a 59 year old were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma following a crash in Lake Shore, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
Emergency services responded to the intersection of Mountain Road and Bodkin Avenue at about 5:20 a.m. Monday for the report of a vehicle collision that required extraction. The 17-year-old man, the driver of one vehicle, was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore with injuries that were critical and possibly life threatening, fire officials said. The driver of the other car, a 59-year-old woman, was trapped in her vehicle. Firefighters took roughly 20 minutes to extract her, taking her to Shock Trauma, as well, with injuries that were serious but not thought to be life-threatening.
Fire officials did not provide additional information about the cause of the accident or factors that led to the crash.
