It took 45 firefighters from three different agencies to extinguish flames at an Annapolis home on Monday.
The blaze broke out after 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Bestgate Road.
Crews from the Anne Arundel, Annapolis and Naval Academy Fire Departments arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the single family residence.
The fire quickly extended to all levels of the home including the roof, which required an extensive overhaul of the structure.
Bestgate Road between Commerce Park Drive and Medical Parkway was closed for several hours while firefighters worked to contain the scene.
No injuries were reported. It's unclear how many people may have been displaced.
The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
