55-year-old cyclist struck by deer in Harwood

HARWOOD, Md. — A 55-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when a deer struck her while she was riding her bike in Harwood, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.

Firefighters were called to the 4600 block of Owensville Sudley Road at about 11:21 a.m. Saturday, where witnesses said the woman was biking with a group of other cyclists when the deer struck her.

She was taken to the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center, where her injuries were determined to be serious, but not life-threatening.
