Annapolis Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor trailer early Thursday morning.
Officer responded to a call of an accident on October 11, in the 1700 block of West Street. There officers found a tractor trailer facing east in the westbound lane of West Street, blocking traffic. The tractor trailer was backing into a business at 1797 West Street.
Officials say, 89-year-old Ralph Reeder was driving a Hyundai station wagon traveling east on West Street. Reeder moved into the westbound lane and hit the cab of the tractor trailer.
The driver of the tractor trailer, 60-year-old Derwin Courtney of Henrico, Va suffered minor injuries and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Reeder suffered serious injuries and was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma. On October 12, the Annapolis Police Department was notified that Reeder, died from his injuries that day.
