PASADENA, Md. — Chesapeake High School had a day to get a history lesson from those who lived through history.
Students who graduated from Rosenwald School in Anne Arundel County. These were schools for African Americans.
Yolande Dickerson graduated from College Park retired from the Federal Government in computer science.
Aldone Pryce went to Morgan and tutored at Park Elementary School. They talked about the black experience in the county before and after civil rights.
"I can go to school and they couldn't," said Chesapeake High student, Shea Lynch.
Unfortunately, they were unable to hear from Wesley Booze, a 102-year-old World War II veterans who retired after 40 years with the post office.
He couldn't make it because he had a radiator problem at home.
