A threat that was written in a girl's bathroom stall and later shared on social media has alarmed area police to increase school security at Aberdeen High School on Wednesday.
According to Aberdeen Police, upon school dismissal and an investigation of the incident, they were able to determine that the threat was not credible. They also emphasized that they will increase their police and administrative presence on the campus as a precaution.
"School safety is our utmost priority and the members of the administrative team and security staff will continue to be vigilant in maintaining the safety of Aberdeen High School. Please know that we take all reports and threats seriously and will continue to work cooperatively with public safety and other agencies to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Under no circumstances will HCPS tolerate anyone creating a climate of fear for our students, families, and staff."
Aberdeen Police and administrators are still investigating the incident.
